Valery Kleiman

ValVal has a MA in Clinical Psychology from York University and is currently in the last stages of his PhD, working on his dissertation.  His research investigates longitudinal predictors for development of chronic pain after major surgery and transition from acute to chronic pain.  Val is also a Certified Psychological Associate and has been practicing in the area of clinical and rehabilitation psychology, specializing in chronic pain, trauma, and anxiety. His particular research interest is in the relationship between chronic pain and PTSD, and he has suggested a construct of Sensitivity to Pain Traumatization, based on the published research co-authored by Dr. Katz and Dr. Clarke. A questionnaire based on the construct is currently under development in the lab.
