Batsheva is a current nursing school applicant. She holds a B.A. (Hons) in Psychology from York University where her passion for the intersection of medicine and psychology began. Batsheva is a research assistant in Dr. Katz’s pain lab, working under the guidance of his graduate student, Anna Waisman. The study she is involved with looks at the connection between pain and memory in youth undergoing major surgery. Batsheva hopes that in utilizing the insights gained from this research, patient experience and pain management projects will be initiated to improve patient outcomes. Appreciating nurses’ involvement in patient care illustrated through the research, Batsheva anticipates a career in nursing that emphasizes caring for both the physical and psychological needs of patients.
