Shira Segal

Shira worked as a research assistant in the Acute Pain Research Unit at the Toronto General Hospital through the Pain Mechanisms Lab in 2014 and 2015. She assisted with a study that investigated chronic opioid use following surgery, and conducted psychophysical testing for a long-term study that examined post-operative pain outcomes. Shira is now pursuing her doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology at Ryerson University. Her research interests include the development of emotion recognition and regulation in infancy, and the contribution of threat-biased attention to childhood anxiety.
